It’s time to start asking the right questions
Real food–the kind of food your great-grandmother took for granted—is being undermined by science on one side and the food industry on the other. Supermarkets are now filled with products that are overly processed, genetically modified, nutrient deficient, chemical and hormone loaded.
Eating has never been more complicated and even dangerous for the lives of North American consumers without doing anything better for our health, and possibly making it worse by causing more and more health problems such as allergies, obesity, type II Diabetes, heart disease, cancer, and toxic overload that it is costing the health care system billions of dollars.
The real roots of those problems have been obscured, and science and the food industry now stand in the way of a solution. That solution involves putting the focus back on real food, because our personal health can’t be removed from the health of the soil, plants, and animals that all go into the food we eat.
In this documentary, we explore what the industrialization of food and agriculture has meant for our health and happiness as eaters, and looks at the growing movement to change the food system — back to real food.
